Bechstein Upright Model 8

We have seen many Bechstein upright pianos from this era and they always prove rewarding to restore. The case was refinished to creating an 'old but cared for' appearance, which suited the design of this piano perfectly. We always prefer to retain patina and character wherever possible and the client in this case was delighted that their treasured piano could be restored to enhance its original beauty rather than overwriting it.

This instrument was destined for a recording studio, so clarity of tone and stability of tuning were of particular importance to our clients. A complete action overhaul was conducted, complete with new hammers and new damper felts. A hard rock maple Bolduc wrest plank was fitted to ensure that after hours of studio use, the tuning remained stable.
